How did Nipomo Travel come to be? Well, look at the photo (yes, it’s grainy and we look a mess, but it was the dawn of the digital photo age, for us). Two young people, on their first cruise together, exploring a new place for the first time. We had been on a few trips before this -- one before we were married, then our honeymoon, and then to visit some of his family overseas -- but this was our first big “aha” moment traveling together. I had traveled before we met, but I had never been on a cruise, and I fell in love with cruising as a way to travel, as well as several places we visited in the Carribean, including my favorite Caribbean island nation, Grenada. Fast forward 16 years and a child later, and we’re still having travel adventures, whether just the two of us or the whole family, whether for vacation, or work, or family events.
So, why did I become a travel consultant? I want to keep traveling and share my travel experience with friends, and family. I believe in life there really are no strangers, just friends we haven’t met, so there will be new people we meet as travel clients, with whom I hope to become friends.
Our family, including various parents, cousins, and siblings, all believe in being travelers, rather than tourists. Visiting other lands, people and cultures make us all better global citizens.
So, whether it’s relaxing on a beach, wandering a museum, hiking through a new landscape, or learning to cook a new dish, let us help you travel to the places, people and things you want to see and be a traveler, not a tourist!
